What Are Positive Support Services and How Can They Help?
- Opportunity Partners offers Positive Support Services to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities strengthen communication, increase independence, address sensory needs, and improve overall quality of life.
- Using personalized programs, a Positive Support Professional or Positive Support Analyst works closely with each person, their staff, and family to design supports that make everyday life and the community more accessible and inclusive.
- They meet weekly and can provide services at home, school, a day program, or the person’s workplace.
- Funding is provided through the waiver program and does not impact any other waivered services.
- Support can be long-term or short-term, depending on need.
