Lori Schluttenhofer Testifying on Behalf of the MN Organization for Habilitation and Rehabilitation

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has released his proposal for this biennium’s budget, which includes a significant reduction in the 2-year inflationary adjustment for disability waiver services—from approximately 11% to just 2%. This drastic cut would strip $600 million from the home and community-based services industry, which relies on Medicaid for 98% of its funding. In simple terms, this budget proposal threatens to undermine the very infrastructure that supports our most vulnerable Minnesotans. OP strongly opposes this measure, as balancing the budget should not come at the expense of people with disabilities and the dedicated individuals who care for them.

Lori Schluttenhofer, Opportunity Partners CEO of Services, testified in January and again last week at the Capital as an advocate for our community to oppose these proposed cuts.
