Programs Employment Specialist

Position Title:             Programs Employment Specialist

Hours:                        Monday-Friday: 8:00am-4:00pm

Location:                    Koch Campus in Minnetonka

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Coordinate and provide vocational support services to individuals referred to Opportunity Partners’ programs.
  • Visit job sites at least twice per month for people served employed in the community
  • Coordinate placement with the Supported Employment Team so that job coaches are educated about support needs and people served are prepared to begin employment and understand the expectations of community job sites
  • Develop an assessment and appraisal plan for people’s performance in the program and document individual’s goals and progress
  • Facilitate meetings so that all team members are informed regarding the progress of each person and gather feedback and information to revise plans to optimize progress
  • Support individuals on your caseload by assisting with the identification of skills, habits, and physical capacities needed for employment, developing advocacy, and communication skills for individuals along with positive approaches to behavior support

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the social sciences and direct experience working with people with disabilities OR 4 or more years of experience working with disabilities
  • Valid driver’s license, motor vehicle insurance, and reliable vehicle

  • Great computer skills (proficient in Microsoft Office programs- Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional rapport with a variety of people
