Purpose: To provide supportive services to adults with developmental disabilities in a group home setting.
Responsibilities: As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) with Opportunity Partners, you will get to spend time with a group of adults with developmental disabilities in one of our group homes. You will be assisting the residents with daily living activities, such as preparing meals, passing medications, personal cares and skill development. You will also be accompanying residents to community activities and helping them develop their communication and social interaction skills.
Educational and Licensing requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and proof of valid motor vehicle insurance
- Communication skills, both oral and written
- Organizational skills
- Instructing skills
- Basic computer skills
- The ability to perform within a team framework
- Working knowledge or ability to learn behavior management techniques
- Ability to work independently within a defined set of policies, procedures, and guidelines
