The Americans with Disabilities Act was signed July 26, 1990 by President George H.W. Bush. The ADA is an important civil rights charter that prohibits discrimination of people with disabilities. Because of the ADA, people with disabilities are not denied basic opportunities related to entities such as employment, transportation, accessibility and telecommunications. Opportunity Partners is proud to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). In the weeks leading up to July 26, Opportunity Partners will feature 25 photos to commemorate the 25 years the act has been a law. Each photo will be of a person describing how the ADA has impacted their lives. The photos will be posted on Instagram each day and then all compiled in an album on Facebook. Twitter will also be utilized in the spreading of knowledge of the ADA.
