The purpose of this position is to float between the various production locations of Opportunity Partners. (Minnetonka, Karlins, TBI Advance Services, Dakota, and Asplin Center) The incumbent will instruct, evaluate and supervise clients/temps to enhance skills that will enable them to perform subcontract work. The incumbent will also serve as a working supervisor to insure that all contracted work is completed.

Essential Functions
Sets up work so that each task is accomplished through good layout techniques and motion economy. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyzing jobs
  • Setting up the bench or machine sequence
  • Staging work to accommodate client skill levels while ensuring quality control
  • Coordinating contract work with Production Manager/Assistant Manager/Coordinator Production

Controls the work flow so that contract work is completed satisfactorily and quality is maintained. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring adequate materials are available
  • Communicating with the Production Manager/Assistant Manager when insufficient materials are given
  • Inspecting quality
  • Filling in for clients/temps during short absences from the job
  • Following procedures stated in the production quality control manual
  • Filling in for absent Work Skills Instructors and Production Coordinator

Records production counts, individual client/temp. production and material wage on a daily basis so that records accurately reflect the activity of the jobs supervised. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring material usage throughout duration of job to ensure adequate materials are available to complete job
  • Reporting client & temp production information
  • Completing daily production report and client job report
  • Reporting job counts
  • Monitoring rejects and returns to customer

Instructs and assists clients & temps so that they understand how to correctly perform the work. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Matching client and temp skills to each task
  • Training and evaluating comprehension and identifying further training needs
  • Providing job training on new and existing jobs as needed per client & temp according to individual learning abilities
  • Demonstrating knowledge of job requirements so that clients and temps work speeds and quality meet employer’s standards
  • Modifying tasks and materials as needed to reduce the risk of injury

Maintains safe and orderly work area so that the potential for accidents/incidents is minimized. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Handling and reporting emergency situations
  • Maintaining a neat and orderly work environment
  • Reviewing safety checklists

Monitors equipment and supplies so that repairs are made or reported and supplies and parts are accounted for. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Learning basic machine functions
  • Returning parts and supplies to storage
  • Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date inventory on materials
  • Pulling jobs each month
  • Performing pallet counts each month

Ensures job assignments are complete so that customer orders are correct. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Receiving and checking work parts upon arrival to ensure parts received match job sheet’s amount sent
  • Loading and unloading trucks and storing bulk product
  • Taping product and/or stacking skids according to job specification
  • Confirms final physical count and quality and verifies product upon completion of job
  • Billing customer for work completed according to Opportunity Partners’ billing procedures and timelines
  • Pallet wrapping finished product
  • Contacting the delivery service upon completion of job
  • Returning and storing work materials in designated areas upon completion of jobs
  • Making minor repairs on machines or jigs as needed

Assists with on-the-job evaluations so that the evaluation report accurately reflects the skills and abilities of the client. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Completing progress reports as requested
  • Communicating directly with program staff as needed
  • Monitoring daily product count for clients as needed
  • Assisting program staff in conducting time studies as time permits

Engages in professional development activities so that new knowledge can be brought to the work setting to enhance client training and services. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Attending in-house training or self-training
  • Attending seminars and workshops


  • Knowledge customarily acquired through the completion of an Associate’s degree and/or two years of related experience.
  • Communication skills, written, oral in English
