As adults with developmental disabilities transition into their retirement years, Opportunity Partners’ Golden Opportunity offers a unique environment designed to meet each individuals’ needs and abilities.

Tailored activities – including work, recreation and volunteerism – strive to keep participants in and of the community. At the same time, the staff, environment and specialized therapies keep a focus on the unique needs of aging participants, including those who have dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

• Funding Sources – Community Alternatives for Disabled Individuals (CADI), Developmental Disabilities (DD), Community
• Alternative Care (CAC), Elderly Waiver (EW)
• Service Hours – Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Licensed Capacity – Licensed Day Training and Habilitation provider serving 50 individuals
• Staff Ratio – 1:8 staff to client ratio, 1:4 special needs room
• Transportation – Transportation is provided by and coordinated with First Transit, a MetroMobility provider.

Onsite Supports 

Our trained and knowledgeable staff provides a consistent point of contact for each individual, coordinating all activities throughout the day. We also provide specialized services, including:

• Medication administration including blood glucose monitoring
• Supervised lunches
• Specialized care for aging and Alzheimer’s disease
• Contracted professionals – Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Nursing
• Staff-assisted personal supports

The abilities of participants at Golden Opportunity are central to achieving their goals. As those abilities change, staff and activities adjust to fit individual needs.

Visual communication systems and sensory activities engage participants in an energizing environment where they can improve interactions, reduce anxiety and stimulate the senses. You will also find all activities are tailored to maintain memory and physical function.

Welcoming and Safe

Golden Opportunity’s welcoming, home-like environment has gathering rooms with comfortable furniture and walls of windows, along with working and activity spaces. To improve participants’ mobility, there are hand rails throughout the building and no steps. Participants needing additional assistance can receive one to one support as necessary.
