Community Integration & Inclusion (CII)

To build greater independence in work, community or personal areas, this structured day program focuses on building skills like:

  • Being on time
  • Displaying proper attitudes
  • Encouraging motivation and interest
  • Memory compensation
  • Keeping a schedule
  • Maintaining boundaries

The classroom instruction is themed for individual growth in:

  • Social Interaction
  • Independence
  • Wellness
  • Work Skills

Added to the classroom are community involvement activities for active participation:

  • Fitness Center
  • Library
  • Volunteering
  • Coffee Shop
  • Employment & Entertainment
  • Community Tours

Having achieved goals in these areas, individuals will move forward to new opportunities that are independent of the group. These staff-supported activities will challenge individuals beyond basic classroom and community activities:

  • Homework
  • Independent study using a computer, text book or worksheets
  • Leadership practice, like mentoring peers, leading a class or presenting a topic to the group
