Giving back this holiday season

December 4, 2017

By Koch Campus’ Committee of Advocacy and Leadership (COAL)

The Koch Campus Committee of Advocacy and Leadership (COAL) is in the midst of our Food Drive! We are collecting non-perishable items to donate to the ICA Food Shelf in Minnetonka. Past drives have collected nearly 300 pounds of food! The food drive is especially important to us this time of year because it shows we understand that some people do not have access to food like we do; it is our job to help and be a good citizen and neighbor.
We asked some of our members why they think the Food Drive is important. Here is what they had to say:
“It is important to give back to people who might be homeless.” – Michelle
“Some people aren’t as fortunate as others and they deserve food just as much as we do.” – Bobby
“I think it is important because maybe people don’t have enough money to buy food.” – Meghan
“We are helping people!” – Ryan
“Other people may not have food. We have to give it to them.” – Heidi
“The food drive is important so that people don’t go hungry.” – Krystyna
It is important that we collect food so that people have enough to eat this holiday season, but we are collecting much more!
